Western Building – Uni of Wollongong
For a regional university Wollongong certainly punches above its weight, currently ranking sixth among the world’s best modern universities. The main Illawarra campus is undergoing a major expansion of its facilities including the Social Sciences & Law, Humanities & the Arts Building – known as the Western Building. This four-level, 10,000sqm structure will house specialist teaching spaces, an academic staff workplace and informal collaboration spaces in an “engaging hub that will support the ambitions of next generation research and learning”. The mechanical services contractor has tasked Drawable with generating all the HVAC Building Information Models (BIM) using Revit, from shop drawings and for construction stage to as built. These cover all elements of HVAC installation such as pipe works, ducts, diffuser layouts, penetrations, sections and schedules.
