With the clock ticking and the customer’s drafting team flat out on other projects, we were asked to deliver the almost impossible.

Electrical engineers O’Donnell Griffin had performed a refit of the massive Warragamba Dam and engaged Drawable to complete 4,500 as built drawings in 5 weeks with no leeway in our timeline – any delay and penalty clauses would kick in.

After one meeting with ODG’s project team at the bottom of Australia’s most famous dam, off we went, heads down and bums up. Over the following 5 weeks we delivered 900 drawings per week to a very happy client, allowing the project to be finished on deadline with complete handover manuals.

This was the tightest timeline we have ever been given and we didn’t disappoint.

The brief for this job in the early days of Drawable was a little overwhelming at first, but we love a challenge and don’t have a too-hard basket!

Now-defunct electrical contractor Rivercorp commissioned a set of drawings allowing them to efficiently install the power distribution cabling and switchboards for both the Barangaroo and Randwick sites for World Youth Day in 2008. With over a million people from around the world visiting for the weekend, there was no room for error.

By breaking the site’s drawings into zones, adding pictures showing the different types of portable switchboards and devising a colour-coding system for the different cables sizes and types, our design worked a treat.

All events at both sites went off without a hitch (or a circuit breaker tripping) and we helped Sydney look awesome in the eyes of our international visitors – and the Pope!

Our team has been working with the contractors who service Equinix for many years, and their data centres continue to grow and expand.

Working in AutoCAD, we document the huge volume of power circuits needed for the comms cabinets, adjusting the “zones” for their clients’ growing server farms, and also use Revit to update and correct components within the model. We also come up with solutions to ensure all information will fit on the power circuit drawings as the circuits hit crazy levels.

We’ve had a challenging time upgrading the line diagrams showing the ever-changing switchboard configurations. However, through constant communication with various electrical contractors, we have maintained the overall structure of these key drawings.

The Drawable team has worked with our national broadcaster throughout Australia almost from the very beginning. We’ve done everything from providing office and furniture layouts for major sites in Brisbane, Canberra and Perth, to documenting power and data distribution through the Ultimo headquarters, continually maintaining the HVAC drawings for several sites through large refits and creating as built drawings for various contractors in NSW and other states.

Whether it the ABC’s HQ in Sydney, the beautiful historic Hobart site or regional offices in Shepparton, Dubbo or Mackay, we pretty much worked on them all.

Recent projects include documenting plant rooms and common spaces for their Asset Management program, allowing tradespeople to be directed to work zones quickly by providing up-to-date drawings showing the elements that need their attention.

It’s been our pleasure to work for the Pro Electrical team on this massive residential development from before the ground was even broken.

With over 600 units in this Botany complex, it will take over two years to complete and involve hundreds of drawings. We are working closely with Pro Electrical’s project management team and engineers to provide a flexible approach to the electrical design, as the requirements of the development change as the project undergoes construction.

Drawable also creates drawings for a wide range of Pro Electrical’s subcontractors, including their comms, security and audio visual system installers.

Our team has worked on a variety of AutoCAD drawings and Revit models for Westfield Shopping Centres and shops within their premises throughout Australia, for a wide range of trade-based companies.

Our work has covered as built drawings, creating sections and elevations for fitouts, providing tenancy identifications and documenting lease expiry dates in 2D drawings, evacuations plans and pathways, updating trade services for the construction phase and updating 3D models for all trades.

The Drawable crew has worked on drawings for Westfields at Bondi Junction, Hurstville, Liverpool, Parramatta, Chatswood and Tuggerah. This close working relationship has enabled us to gain a thorough understanding of their drafting needs.

The Star is constantly growing, changing and upgrading its facilities and space, which means there are always plenty of changes required with AutoCAD drawings and Revit models.

We’ve worked on all sorts of electrical drawings and plans, architectural drawings including changes, security and data layouts, line diagrams and electrical schematics, room layout and furniture changes, security drawings and CCTV changes, and visualisations within Revit models. In most cases it’s critical the drawings are updated quickly and efficiently.

Recent projects include all electrical drawings for the themed accommodation rooms, as built drawings for the multi-use entertainment facility, kitchen lighting and power drawings and the drawings for The Pit Stop refit. We generate drawings for many contractors that work throughout this enormous site.

To say we know The University of Sydney well is an understatement! We are continually working on drawings for a wide range of contractors at this vast, world-renowned institution.

The Drawable team has recently finished drawing every single electrical switchboard on the Sydney Campus – that’s over 1,200! – for Stowe Australia. This project has taken 18 months and involved deciphering hundreds of pages of tradesman’s scribble and turning them into clear, concise drawings for the Uni’s records. We provide the project team with AutoCAD files, and pdf and jpeg copies to make building the handover manual easier.

We are constantly involved in generating as built drawings, revising existing AutoCAD and Revit documents, creating new ways of presenting important information and, as always, making the contractors look good!
